Patricia McCausland-Gallo, Author: Patricia McCausland-Gallo is a nutritionist, pastry chef, teacher, and food writer born in the Caribbean town of Barranquilla, Colombia. She has a B.S. in Foods and Nutrition from Louisiana State University, attended a School for Retort Operations, and completed courses of instruction prescribed by the Food and Drug Administration. She has attended the American Institute of Baking in Kansas as well as the École Lenôtre in Paris. She is a Certified Food Professional by the International Association of Culinary Professionals in the US.

Pachi ́s work since 2013 to date is working with Dr. Clyde Wilson in creating an invaluable nutrition resource for Americans to raise their metabolic rate and lose weight for life. Pachi, as she is called, has been a food writer for local and national newspapers in Colombia and Panama City where she lives now. She has published six cookbooks around the world.

Susana Illera Martínez, Co-Author: Susana is an award-winning Colombian author, creative designer, and bilingual writer living in Miami, Florida.

In 2018 she independently published her first book titled Clara, a collection of poems written in her early life, which marked the beginning of her public career as a writer. In 2019 she published Lala. A Different Lizard (Una lagartija diferente). A bilingual picture book that has been awarded and recognized in multiple literary contests and became the first book in the Lala the Lizard® Series, which already includes three titles published in the US (Snow Fountain Press), Spain (Hola Monstruo), and PalBooks (Colombia).

Since 2021 Susana has been collaborating with Disney Publishing Worldwide writing original stories based on the movie Encanto. Her bilingual story El don de una familia (The Gift of Family) was published in the United States with Penguin Random House.
